Unmasking Satan's Ministers of Righteousness
Printable pdf version
Today we are going to study about Satan’s ministers which have crept into the church and how we can know those who are God’s Shepherds and those who are Satan’s. Most Christians don’t even realize that Satan has ministers behind the pulpits teaching false doctrine but it’s true and we’re warned about it throughout Scripture. (Jude 3) Beloved, while I was giving all diligence to write unto you of our common salvation, I was constrained to write unto you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints. (4) For there are certain men crept in privily, even they who were of old written of beforehand unto this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
We are warned in this scripture to “contend earnestly for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints”. Why was this warning given? Because there are those who’ve already “crept in privily” to the church. This Greek word is pareisdunō which means to settle in alongside, that is, lodge stealthily: - creep in unawares. So we are warned that men (pastors and ministers) will creep in, unnoticed; they will settle in alongside the church, they will lodge stealthily without even being noticed. How could that be? How could we NOT notice someone whom the Bible calls “ungodly” and under “condemnation” who would be standing in our pulpits? Wouldn’t they be obvious and very easy to spot? Do you remember when Jesus said, “beware of the leaven of the Pharisees” and Paul said to the Corinthians “Know ye not that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Purge out the old leaven that ye may be a new lump”. Both Jesus and Paul were talking about false doctrine and false teaching which leads to sin. Remember this and remember it well, Satan never comes to you with horns and big red pointy tail; he never has and he never will. When the devil deceives God’s people, it’s much more subtle than that. (2 Corinthians 11:13) For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, fashioning themselves into apostles of Christ. (14) And no marvel; for even Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light. (15) It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion themselves as ministers of righteousness. There you have it, Satan disguises himself as an angel of light and so it shouldn't be a surprise that his ministers also fashion themselves into ministers of righteousness.
Look around, do you see any of Satan’s ministers in the churches today? Look closely, are you seeing any signs of a sharp pointy tail sticking out behind any of their robes or suits? Of course not, because they’re not obvious to the naked eye; in fact they’re "stealthy" and at first glance you cannot tell God’s true ministers from one of Satan’s ministers. That is unless you have on the armor of God. (Ephesians 6:13-17) Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. (Have you taken up the whole armor of God? Have you done all you can in the Lord in order to stand in this evil day?) (14) Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, (Notice truth is the first thing you put on. Where do you get truth? It’s called God’s Word, the Holy Bible. If you don’t know what God says through His Word, how do you know if your Pastors are preaching truth or leaven?) and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, (15) and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (16) withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. (How do you get that faith to have as your shield? Paul in Romans says, “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God”. Sowing God’s Word into your heart will allow you to have that shield to quench the fiery darts of the devil) (17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Without the Word of God deeply ingrained into your heart, you will never be able to stand the wiles of the devil, for he comes as an angel of light, sending his “ministers of righteousness”, they come with a smile and smooth words, they speak scripture from the Holy Bible, and even use the name of Jesus. Surely we’re not talking about any Bible teachers or Pastors we know; certainly we’re not talking about the church we attend, are we?
So let’s start to unmask Satan’s tactics in which his “ministers of righteousness” use in order to deceive God’s people. If we can see the false doctrines in which the devil uses to deceive, it will help us to clearly see who God’s true ministers are compared to Satan’s false ones. We’ll do this by looking at the Bible as our rock and our foundation.
Test #1 Unmasking Satan’s ministers - “The church is not the church”
First we must look at the church, at least what we call the church today. What denomination is your church affiliated with; Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, Catholic? Maybe you’re “non-denominational” but you’re still taught what “they” believe according to “their beliefs” of what they think Scripture says. What did Jesus say and what did He have planned for the “Church”? (John 10:16) And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd. Is the church today one flock or many divided flocks? (John 17:11) And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are. Jesus continues His prayer to the Father that the body of believers be perfected into one body. (John 17:20) Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word; (21) that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me. (22) And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one; (23) I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one. So here we see that nowhere in Scripture was it the intention of Jesus to have divisions within His Body of believers. In fact we read in (Luke 11:17)… Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth. Jesus wanted His flock to be one and not divided into denominations.
The Lord gives us the example and blue print as to what His church is to be like as we read through the book of Acts. (Acts 2:41) They then that received his word were baptized: and there were added unto them in that day about three thousand souls. (42) And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and the prayers. (43) And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. (44) And all that believed were together, and had all things common; (45) and they sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all, according as any man had need. (46) And day by day, continuing stedfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart, (47) praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to them day by day those that were saved. This is our example as to how we are to be as believers; one body, one flock. They had a singleness of heart and they were one in Christ and as the church grew, believers were warned about “Wolves” creeping into the flock, creating divisions within the body. (Acts 20:28) Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood. (29) I know that after my departing grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock; (30) and from among your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. We were warned it would come; we were warned of the coming separation of the flock, and it soon started; the one flock began to splinter. Many of those “Wolves” taught doctrine contrary from what Jesus and the Apostles taught and deceived the hearts many. I’m sure it was subtle and almost unnoticeable but it happened and here’s what Paul had to say: (Romans 16:17) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them that are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which ye learned: and turn away from them. (18) For they that are such serve not our Lord Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and fair speech they beguile the hearts of the innocent. Even though Paul warned our church fathers about those who were dividing the flock and those teaching false doctrine contrary to the Lord’s, it has now happened. We started with one Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and one church as we see in the book of Acts, today we have at last count over 37,000 different “sects" or divisions within Christianity. Is this what Jesus commanded or what the Apostles set up?
Think about this; if the devil has done such a masterful job of dividing the church, doesn’t it seem reasonable that the devil has already set up his ministers within our churches who are still teaching contrary doctrine from Christ’s? Let’s read this scripture again. (2 Corinthians 11:3) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve in his craftiness, your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity and the purity that is toward Christ. (4) For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we did not preach, or if ye receive a different spirit, which ye did not receive, or a different gospel, which ye did not accept, ye do well to bear with him (Endure, Suffer)…(13) For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, fashioning themselves into apostles of Christ. (14) And no marvel; for even Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light. (15) It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion themselves as ministers of righteousness. For an in-depth look at denominations and how Satan has divided the flock, please read the article on this site entitled “Wolves have crept in to divide the Flock”.
I'll ask you again, if you saw a minister of Satan, would you recognize him? If you heard one speaking behind the pulpit, would you recognize that he or she is a minister of Satan? Let’s explore this to see if we can unmask the devils ministers, these false “angels of light”, or as the Bible calls them, false “ministers of righteousness”.
Before you read the rest of this article, you must put aside all preconceived opinions, all doctrine that you have been taught and accepted as truth, because we are warned that in the latter days we be seduced by spirits and doctrines of demons! (1 Timothy 4:1) But the Spirit saith expressly, that in later times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. You must only accept the truth of the Bible and if it doesn’t line up with scripture, then we must reject it as a doctrine of demons. Who else would doctrines of demons come from than Satan's ministers of righteousness behind the pulpits.
We’ve already learned the devil has masterfully splintered the true church of Jesus Christ, with diverse doctrines and beliefs. Even though they’re all called “Christian”, every denomination is different from what Jesus originally taught and set up. That IS NOT our fault and we cannot change what has already happened; what is our fault is if we become aware of the truth according to the Bible and choose not to accept that truth because it’s not what we’ve “learned” in church. “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar (Proverbs 30:5,6). Both you and your Pastor cannot rely on your denomination and only what they believe. Your understanding of the Lord must be formed by the Word of God itself and not your denominational beliefs. If your Pastor cannot repent (change his mind) when the Lord shows him new truth in the Bible, if your Pastor is afraid of losing his job and instead chooses to continue to preach what his denomination teaches instead of the truth which the Lord has showed him, then he is not God’s minister but Satan’s. God’s ministers will love the Word of God over what their denomination teaches even if it means losing his position in that church. No matter what the consequences they will obey God rather than man or denomination.
Test #2 Unmasking Satan’s ministers –“A Powerless, do nothing ‘Jesus’ ”
What type of Jesus do you hear preached today? Is it an all loving Jesus who only forgives sins? Does your minister preach a Jesus who is coming again a second time, to give you a glorified body and only then will you have the power that Jesus had; to heal, raise the dead, and do miracles like Jesus did? Is this what Scripture teaches; that we have to wait for Jesus to come again before we can do the works of Jesus? (John 14:12-14) I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. Did you hear this preached in your pulpits on Sunday; how about this scripture? (Mark 16:17,18) And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well". I ask again, is this what we’re taught in our churches today; that whoever has faith in Jesus will do what Jesus did? Are we taught by our Pastors that if you’re a believer, you will have the authority to drive out demons; speak in tongues; pick up snakes or drink deadly poison without hurting them at all; and healing the sick by a touch? This is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ! “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me” (Gal 2:20). This is the GOOD NEWS; this is what the devil is so afraid of; that believers will understand the truth of the Gospel, which is “Christ in you”. That gospel is that Christ was crucified and reconciled you to God by faith (He made an exchange of you and your sin for Christ and His righteousness). That’s why by faith it’s no longer you that live but Christ who lives in you! Instead of Pastors teaching that it’s Christ in you and that you have the authority to do the works of Jesus, they are not having you act on that faith and remember "faith without works is dead". Satan has made the church powerless because they’re only teaching “God loves everybody and you will go to heaven someday”. This is not the real Gospel and it’s a teaching that takes the power of God from His believers, and it’s a “doctrine of demons”.
Satan was defeated at the cross and he does not want you to fully understand that you have all authority over him! (Colossians 2:14,15) Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His Cross. And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it." Yes, Jesus defeated Satan and the power he had over us and the devil and his demons are subject to us in Jesus’ name. (Luke 10:17-20) The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!" And he said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven". Yes Jesus has given us all authority over demons and principalities of the devil but only if we believe in that authority through Jesus. What these ministers of Satan have done is to only give you a small portion of the Good News. They teach you what is harmless to Satan's kingdom while keeping the teaching which gives you power away from believers.
Satan is defeated and he knows it. So what has been his plan of attack? Exactly what scripture warned us about: (2 Corinthians 11:3) “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve in his craftiness, your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity and the purity that is toward Christ. Satan’s tactic has been very smooth, almost undetectable by most “Christians”. What Satan has done is to send forth his “ministers of righteousness” to preach a false gospel and a false “Jesus”; a Jesus of “love and forgiveness”. Yes, this false “Jesus” that they preach. They teach a “Jesus” who has NO POWER to keep you from sin, NO POWER to make you perfect, no prophetic gifts, no speaking in tongues, no baptism in the Holy Spirit, no discernment of spirits, no power to heal the sick, nor casting out of demons. Our Pastors today say that all this passed away with the disciples and what we have today is now the church. Some even say these things are the works of the devil! Yet the very last words from Jesus to His disciples were, “Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:19,20). Jesus specifically commands his followers to make other disciples and to teach those disciples what Jesus taught them. This was to be taught “unto the end of the world”. Does this sound like everything passed away with the disciples or have wolves crept into the flock to teach another doctrine which the disciples did not teach? Plain and simple we are NOT taught today in our churches what Jesus taught His disciples.
(2 Timothy 4:1-7) But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Doesn’t this sound like we’re in the middle of fulfilling this prophecy? Notice where Paul says we will be lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, he then follows with “having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people”. Doesn’t this describe our churches today? We have the “appearance” of godliness, but we deny God’s power. What is God’s power? “For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16). Believing in the gospel gives you the power of God to work in your life. If you have faith in the true Gospel that Christ made an exchange on the cross; Him for you… then it’s no longer you that lives but Jesus Christ now living in you. Now if by faith you believe this, God’s Holy Spirit will manifest Jesus in you! If Jesus is in you, then there is no sin, no disease and you have power through Jesus to heal and do the works of Jesus! That is the true gospel of Christ and the devil will fight tooth and nail to prevent you from understanding this. What does the Bible say about your Pastor or church who does not teach this? “having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people”. We are to avoid people who claim to be godly but deny God’s power; they have crept into God’s church and led you astray with a Gospel that is contrary to the Word of God. This is not a suggestion but a command! In fact if your Minister is not preaching the Gospel of “Christ in you” with signs and wonders following, he’s what scripture calls “antichrist”. These are not my words but the Bible's, lets read it.
(2 John 1: 7) For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. This speaks of a future coming of Jesus in the flesh. The Apostle John wrote this letter many years after Jesus was raised with His glorified body who went to Heaven to be seated at the right hand of the Father. Is Jesus literally coming back again in the flesh? No He is never coming again in the flesh, Jesus is coming back with His glorified body; so what is the Apostle John speaking about? It can be nothing except what is preached throughout the Scriptures… that Jesus is coming in the body of every true believer. Paul in Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me”. The more you die to yourself the more Jesus is manifested in your body. With Jesus in you, you now have God’s power through faith, to overcome sin, to heal the sick and to do everything Jesus and the disciples did. Our churches and pastors are not preaching the real Good News, the real Gospel of Christ! Oh yes they have “the appearance of godliness, but denying its power”. If the Bible says “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well", then we should strive to become a believer. This is the power of God which many of our Pastors are denying and they’re teaching you to deny God’s power also. This is "the deceiver and the antichrist" and they are teaching you to be the same! John continues in verse 8 of 2 John, “ Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. (9) Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. Do you see the warning? John says to watch yourselves so that you don’t lose what you have, your salvation! (10) If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, (11) for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works. We are warned to "watch ourselves that we don't loose what we've worked for" because if we don't continue in the teachings of Christ we do not have God! Are we in danger to sit under this antichrist gospel? We have clear instructions on what to do if one of Satan’s “ministers of righteousness” is teaching this false “Jesus” antichrist doctrine without power, we are not to receive him into our homes or even give them a greeting.
If you've not know this was going on up until now, it's not your fault, but what you do with this information from this point on is your responsibility and you are now held accountable to what you know. A true believer will read the Word of God and change their way of thinking according to what the Word says and not their Pastor of denomination.
Test #3 Unmasking Satan’s ministers - “God loves everybody”
Do you hear Pastors telling you that “God loves everybody”; it doesn’t matter what you do… “God loves you” or you hear that “God hates the sin but loves the sinner”? Is this what the Bible really teaches or is this just another doctrine of demons? (Psalm 5:5) The arrogant shall not stand in thy sight: Thou hatest all workers of iniquity. God hates all workers of iniquity; is this consistent with other scriptures in the Bible?
(Psalm 11:5) Jehovah trieth the righteous; But the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. It sounds like God does not just hate the sin, but hates the sinner and all workers of iniquity! You may say, “This is old Testament teaching, Jesus loves everyone”. Scripture says that Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever so if this was true in the Old Testament we should see this in the New Testament also. (John 14:21) He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him. Who is it that will be loved by God; who is it that will be loved by Jesus? THOSE WHO KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS!!! Would it also be true that you won't be loved by the Father if you do not keep His commandments? I believe so, otherwise Jesus would have just made a blanket statement that God loves everyone, but Jesus was specific to say that only if you keep His commandments do you love Him and then will you be loved by His Father.
(John14:23) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Notice how this is a conditional statement of fact, that if you love Jesus you are keeping His commandments and then you will be loved by God. The truth is, nowhere in scripture do we find that God loves everybody; you just cannot find it. What you find is that God’s love is conditional on keeping His Word. What happens if you don’t keep Jesus’ commandments? Then you don’t love Jesus and will not be loved by the Father! It sounds like Jesus is saying the same thing as God did in the Psalms.
Many will say that John 3:16 says that “God loves the whole world”. Well if you read it in context, you’ll find that it’s only those in the world who believe in Him whom Jesus loves. Later in John 13:1 it says “Jesus knowing that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto his Father, having loved his own that were in the world, he loved them unto the end. “ Jesus did not love the whole world, but only His own that were in the world. That is why Jesus didn't even pray for the whole world but only those who were His in the world. (John 17:8) For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. (9) “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. So if God loved everybody wouldn't Jesus have been praying for everyone in the world instead of just those who believed?
Why is this important and why is it so dangerous? Instead of preaching repentance, holiness and following God’s Word; you hear about “Love” you hear how much “God loves you” and how “He loves you no matter what”. Yes, love is a big part of God’s nature but God expects Holiness. “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matt 5:48). If you’re always hearing that God loves you and it’s OK, that we all sin and fall short of what God wants for us, then what’s to motivate us to holiness? How often do you hear this, (1 John 3:7) Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. (8) He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. (9) Whoever has been born of God does not sin ... Holiness and fear of the Lord is just not preached today. Satan’s “ministers of righteousness” tell you it’s alright because God loves you and we are all sinners, the Bible says something else. God loves the righteous and hates the wicked who will be lost forever. (1 Cor 6:9) Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, (10) nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. These unrighteous will not enter the kingdom of heaven and will spend eternity in hell. I ask you again, does God really love everybody; does He really love the sinner while hating just the sin? This is a doctrine of demons to make one comfortable in their sin. The Bible says we are not supposed to be comfortable in our sin, "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (Phil 2:12). Holiness is an essential key to entering heaven and Satan and his ministers do not want you to know this. (Hebrews 12:14) Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. While Satan’s ministers will tell you that “it’s OK, God loves you”, the Bible says that without holiness no one will see the Lord! Would you rather hear the hard truth now; that God does not love everyone but only those who obey Him, or would you rather be standing in front the Lord come judgment day and find out that your pastor gave you the wrong message? (Matthew 7:21) "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven”.
So if you hear your minister telling you that God loves everyone, you’ve been fooled by one of the devils “ministers of righteousness” because this doctrine is contrary to scripture. If he or she is preaching that God loves everyone, these are lies from the devil. If God really loves everybody unconditionally, have your Pastor explain about the if’s we see in scripture. (John 15:10) “ If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love… (14) Ye are my friends, if ye do the things which I command you. There are always two sides to the word “if” and one is being in the Lord’s love and the other is not. God does not love everyone and scripture is clear that there are requirements to be loved by God and abide in Jesus’ love. There are requirements if you want to be called a friend to Jesus and only His friends will enter the gates of heaven! For an in-depth look at this subject, go to the article on this site titled Does God Love Everybody?
Test #4 Unmasking Satan’s ministers – “Oaths or Pledges”
How many times do you hear our Pastors encouraging us to make a pledge for some building fund, or missionary cause or something that is needed in the church? Is this scriptural? (Matthew 5:33) Again, ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: (34) but I say unto you, swear not at all; neither by the heaven, for it is the throne of God; (35) nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. (36) Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make one hair white or black. (37) But let your speech be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: and whatsoever is more than these is of the evil one. Jesus knows that if it’s not God’s will, it will never happen, so how can you pledge or promise something you don’t have the power or authority to complete? You are simply to say yes or no because “whatsoever is more than these is of the evil one”. If your Pastor encourages you to make a pledge, promise or commitment, that is unscriptural and from the evil one.
(James 5:12) But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by the heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath: but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay; that ye fall not under judgment. If the pastor is truly from God and not one of the devils ministers, why can’t they read the Word for themselves to see that it’s wrong to swear or pledge or promise money to some fund or cause? A man of God loves the Word and reveres it above all else and would certainly not ask you to do this. A minister of Satan will ask you to pledge.
Test #5 Unmasking Satan’s ministers – “False Grace”
Do your hear pastors continually speaking about the grace and the forgiveness of the cross while hearing very little about holiness and repentance? Instead of preaching against sin and putting it out of the church, they say that God loves everybody, that we’re all accepted and that you’re forgiven by God’s grace. The Greek word for lasciviousness is aselgeia – which means licentiousness, absence of restraint, indecency.
It seems today, the underlying theme of what you hear preached is that you’re forgiven no matter what, and that God loves you and that you should try not to sin but it’s OK if you fail and continue to sin because Jesus died on the cross for us. You hear that we’re all sinners and we’ll always be sinners and that we have no hope in being holy. This is not the Gospel of Jesus and if they’re not preaching holiness, then that my friend is “turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness” or the absence of restraint. They are saying “you can’t be holy so be forgiven”, is that really what our Holy Bible teaches? (1 John 3:3) And every one that hath this hope set on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. (4) Every one that doeth sin doeth also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. (5) And ye know that he was manifested to take away sins; and in him is no sin. (6) Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither knoweth him. (7) My little children, let no man lead you astray: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous: (8) he that doeth sin is of the devil… We’re specifically warned not to let any man lead us astray and that if we are sinning we are of the devil! Could it just be the devil’s “ministers of righteousness” who are teaching this contrary doctrine of easy grace and the absence of holiness?
We continually hear Pastors preaching on the grace and forgiveness of Jesus while leaving out what the apostle John preaches, “Every one that hath this hope set on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure”. What are you hearing from your Minister; that we’re all sinners saved by grace and that we are forgiven… or that we must purify ourselves and be holy, just as Jesus is holy; which are you hearing? The apostle John says that Jesus came to take away sin and that whoever is abiding in Jesus sins not! Do you hear this preached today? If your Pastor is preaching about the grace and forgiveness all the time, how can he be preaching what the Word of God says… “whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither knoweth him”. Wow, this is hard stuff, can you see why a long time ago some did not like all this holiness preached so they changed a little here and a little there and now we have what we have today in our churches?
In the above scripture John goes on to say… “he that doeth sin is of the devil”. Yet, aren’t we taught by our pastors that “he that doeth sin” is forgiven all the time any time? Grace, Grace and more Grace. The Bible says that he who sins is of the devil; that’s a long way from the all loving and all grace for everything doctrine we hear so often. You might say “Maybe you’re taking one scripture out of context to make your case”. (2 Peter 3:11,14,17) You ought to live holy and godly lives… make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. . ..Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men. Yes, we are to live holy and godly lives and not be carried away with lawless men who teach a false doctrine of lawlessness under the disguise of grace. What would it look like to “be carried away by the error of lawless men”? Wouldn’t it resemble a minister who preaches only grace and forgiveness of sins instead of what Peter preached, which was to “live holy and godly lives… make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him”. You see, being carried away by the doctrines of lawless men are Satan’s “ministers of righteousness” excusing sin; that say “it’s OK if you’re living in sin… you’re forgiven”. Wasn't this Satan’s original lie to Eve? (Gen 3:2-5) And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, 'You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'" But the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil". Do you see how Satan’s original lie is being carried out NOW by his ministers that come to you as “ministers of righteousness”? They preach, “It’s OK to sin, just try harder next time, you won’t go to hell, you are forgiven, God loves us, and we now have grace…” It’s the same lie Satan told Eve in the garden and he’s now having his “ministers of righteousness” tell the same lie as in the beginning. The problem is that instead of Eve being deceived it's now you and I.
This is a very serious deception going on in our churches today, but God’s word is very clear; that whoever abides in Jesus SINS NOT! Whoever sins has not seen Jesus or known Jesus and he who does sin is of the devil. This is why it says in Hebrews 12:14 “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” and Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness'. This is because without holiness, no man shall see the Lord!
I’m confident that most of the Pastors who do not preach the Bible, which is holiness and repentance, don’t even know that they’re Satan’s ministers, but if they are preaching contrary teachings to God’s Word, they’re the devil’s unknowing accomplices. They’ve went to Bible college and they’ve learned what they’ve been taught, and they’ve been taught by men what to believe and what not to believe instead of studying the Word of God and letting the Holy Spirit teach them. Instead of waiting for the Lord to call them forth, they’re stepping out of the Lords will, ignoring the Scriptures and following mans rules and what they say it takes to become a minister. The only one we read about who went to "Bible College" was Saul who later became the Apostle Paul who then had to be re-educated by the Holy Spirit in order to do the Lords work. Ministers today have been deceived by mans teaching instead of the Holy Spirit teaching them and this is how they have become Satan’s ministers to do his bidding. They think they’re working for the Lord when they’re really working for Satan.
(1 John 2:6) Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. How did Jesus walk; in holiness or in sin? How about when we deliberately sin, what happens? (Heb 10:26,27,29) If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God…How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? Many Pastors who teach that it’s alright to live the way you want, without holiness are teaching lasciviousness or a life without restraint and that God accepts and forgives you even if you’re living in sin. Brothers and sisters nothing could be further from the truth! They are just comforting them to the gates of hell.
Now don’t take what I am saying out of context; there is forgiveness because of what Christ did on the cross, but this is what is taught in scripture about forgiveness. (1John 2:1-6) My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. Forgiveness is for when we mess up, but the Scriptures clearly teach that we must keep the commandments and walk as Jesus walked.
This is just a taste of what scriptures say about holiness and what Jesus and the Apostles originally taught, there are many more scriptures than these, but now you have a little more understanding of what one of the wolves in sheep’s clothing may look like in these dangerous times we’re in.
Test #6 Unmasking Satan’s ministers – “10% tithing and prosperity gospel”
Do you hear Pastors who are preaching that you must give your 10% tithe to the Church “according to the Bible”, or that the more you sow into their ministry the more you’ll prosper? Is this what Jesus really teaches?
(Luke 14:33) So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple. Does Jesus really say this; that we must renounce all that we have? What is it that we have to give up, only 10% or everything? We have to give up ALL that we have! Let’s look at the Greek word Jesus uses when he says to renounce all. That word is “apotassomai” which means to literally to say adieu (by departing or dismissing); figuratively to renounce: - bid farewell, forsake, take leave, send away (Strong’s Concordance). What does ALL leave out? Nothing! That sounds pretty strict and very radical; maybe we’re taking scripture out of context. Let’s just see if there are any other scriptures that agree with this. At the mouth of two witnesses or three shall every word established (2 Cor 13:1).
(Matthew 16:24) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (25) For whosoever would save his life shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it. (26) For what shall a man be profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? or what shall a man give in exchange for his life? You cannot find one scripture passage in the New Testament where Jesus or His Disciples commanded you to keep the tithe of the Old Testament. What you will find is that instead of 10% we are to give up everything we have to the Lord, even our life! Do you hear this preached from our ministers today?
(Mark 10:21-23) And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me." Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. And Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How difficult it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God"! To truly follow Jesus and be His disciple, you must renounce everything. This man was keeping the law and giving his tithe but Jesus invited this man to be a disciple but he gave that invitation up because of his wealth.
(Luke 12:33) Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. This is what Jesus taught; it wasn’t the 10% for God and 90% for you, it was everything to God. What would that look like today? Would you have to take a vow of poverty? No, it would simply mean that instead of a strict 10% going into the offering plate, you would let the Lord speak to your heart on where and what to give and you would obey. You’d renounce ownership of the money you’ve saved and you’d give to others in need while helping where the Lord showed. You would do as the Lord speaks to your heart with no restraints because it’s no longer yours but God’s; you would be the good and faithful steward of all your goods. (James 2:14) What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? (15) If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, (16) and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? (17) Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. Yes, our faith is dead unless we act on what the Lord places in our hearts to do for others. Many people justify themselves by giving 10% to church while those around them go without. The 10% tithe is part of the Old Testament law and no longer are we under that. Ministers do not want to tell you this because it may cause them to loose money while you give to the poor and needy around you.
How about the prosperity message we hear preached in our pulpits, does Jesus teach this or is it the ministers of Satan who teach this? (Matthew 6:19-21) "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. No where can you find the prosperity message preached in the Bible, especially our New Covenant in Jesus. If your minister is preaching sowing seed to be blessed you had better be careful because this is not what Jesus taught. In fact they are teaching covetousness which in its original Greek simply means "desiring more, eager for gain". Isn't this what they are teaching? Instead of giving out of the love in your heart for your fellow brother or sister in need, they teach that it's "Your best life now" and that if you sow a seed (money) into the kingdom you will be blessed and receive much more than what you gave. Yet we are warned about covetousness, (Ephesians 5:3) But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Paul goes on to warn us two verses later that a person who desires more will not even make it to heaven! (Ephesians 5:5) For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Paul calls a covetous person an idolater because they have made an idol out of whatever it is they desire and have put it before God. That person will not enter heaven! Please don't tell me you can do both for the Scriptures say that, "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money (Matthew 6:24). For an in-depth look on this subject please go to the article titled “Money, Storing up for the future”.
Bottom line is that Jesus not only tells us that we must give it all up to serve Him, but Jesus commands us, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth”. How can we sow money into a ministry expecting to prosper and become wealthy, when Jesus tells us not to lay up for ourselves treasure on earth. Then later says that if we do have treasure we must give it all away and renounce it? This prosperity doctrine is just one more of Satan’s lies that many of his ministers are preaching.
Test #7 Unmasking Satan’s ministers – “Selling God’s Word”
Do you see within any ministries, the Gospel of Jesus Christ being sold? It may be books or CD’s; it may be seminars, or sermons. What does scripture say about selling something that God has freely given to you? (Matt 10:8) Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely ye received, freely give. (9) Get you no gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses; (10) no wallet for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food. Jesus says the gifts which He gives you in order to do His work for the Lord, we are to give freely because you received it free. In other words, do not charge others for what you received free from God. Just as you would not sell your companies office furniture out of the back of your truck, don’t sell what God has given you to do His work.
You could write a book about building a house sell it, make money and there would be nothing wrong with it, you could give a talk about how you can be the best chef around and how they can succeed in opening a restaurant, there would be nothing wrong with that either. That would be a fine way to make a living for your family and nothing in Scripture against that.
This now changes when the Lord has freely given you a gift to bring souls into His kingdom and you sell things associated with this gift in which He’s given you. That gift may be in music, it may be in teaching God’s Word by writing a book, it could be in preaching and making copies of sermons or teachings. All these things were freely given to you for God’s glory and not your own. Jesus told his disciples “freely ye received, freely give” This was not a suggestion but a command! Jesus went on to say “Get you no gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses; no wallet for your journey… for the laborer is worthy of his food.” In other words, God will take care of you when you’re doing His will and His work. Why then would a minister of God go against the written Word, and sell his or her sermons, sell his music or books or anything else within their ministry? Do they not trust the Lord to provide? Would they justify selling what God has given them to make more money so they can get the Word out and to win more souls for Jesus? This is a lie from the devil because God does not go against His written Word! God is all powerful and owns every bit of wealth in the world, and if God owns it, then God can and will certainly give it as needed to further His kingdom and bring in souls to Him. What can a man do that the Lord couldn’t do? Why would you have to sell what God gave you to further His kingdom? For the man of God, his job is to obey the Word and the Lord will supply him with the resources in order to further the kingdom. No matter how fast you believe it should be done, God will supply when He is ready for you to be supplied. That Pastor who is selling the Word or training materials is just another example of Satan’s ministers within the flock that are going unnoticed because the sheep do not read God’s Word. Jesus and His disciples are our examples. Any other way, no matter how they explain that it’s to grow the kingdom is a lie from the devil. Just look at some ones ministry on-line and you can see who obeys the Word and who are buying and selling in the Lords temple. (Matthew 21:12) Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. (13) And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’" but you have made it a ‘den of thieves’”.
Test #8 Unmasking Satan’s ministers – “We are all sinners saved by grace”
Do you hear any Ministers teaching that we’re all sinners, and that because of Adam’s fall we’ll always be sinners? Do you hear them say that you’re a sinner who's saved by grace? Do you hear them teach that not only are you a sinner, but you'll always be a sinner; that there was only one perfect person who’s name was Jesus and that you can never be perfect? Is this what the Bible really teaches or is that just what you've been taught? It's important you find out the truth because you just may be listening to one of Satan’s “ministers of righteousness” and not even know it. Remember the Bible says “Let God be true and every man a liar”.
(Psalm 1:1,5) Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers: Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. Are you really a sinner? If so, you will not stand “in the congregation of the righteous”. Since you’re told that you’re a sinner, does that then mean that you’ll be judged with the wicked? If you're as sinner then you'll even be separated from Jesus. (Hebrews 7:26) For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens. Do you still believe what your Pastor teaches you… that you’re a sinner? This scripture says that Jesus Christ is “separated from sinners”. Is Jesus separated from you? His Word clearly says that Jesus is holy and is separated from sinners. (John 9:31) We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him. If we are really sinners like many of Satan’s ministers teach us, why do we bother with praying because the Bible clearly says that God is not listening to sinners.
We are told by Satan’s ministers to be satisfied with God's forgiveness and that we shouldn't hope for deliverance from the sin itself. Yet the real Good News is that Jesus makes us free from sin. (Rom.6:17,18,22,23) But thanks be to God, that, whereas ye were servants of sin, ye became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching whereunto ye were delivered; (18) and being made free from sin, ye became servants of righteousness. (22) But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end eternal life. (23) For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord). Since our old man (the sinner) was crucified with Christ. (Rom.6:6) Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin yes brothers and sisters we can reckon ourselves to be dead to sin (11) Even so reckon ye also yourselves to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus. Saints we are not to let sin reign in our mortal bodies. (12) Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey the lusts thereof. Since these "ministers of righteousness" have no hope themselves to be holy, they teach a convenient doctrine that permits them to live as they like while still confessing Christ. (Isa.29:13) And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw nigh unto me, and with their mouth and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of is a commandment of men which hath been taught them.
We’ve been taught lies from the devil that we are just forgiven and that we cannot hope to be delivered from sin itself; that only Jesus was able to accomplish this. Do you find this taught throughout scripture? No, like in the scripture above “you were servants of sin”. Now that you’re saved you have been “made free from sin,” and that “our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away”. That is the Gospel; that is the Good News, it’s Jesus who now lives in you and if it’s Jesus in us then we are not sinners any more than Jesus was a sinner.
Let’s look at more scriptures to prove the Gospel message that we are no longer sinners. (1Peter 2:24) [W]ho his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed. We are not just forgiven by what Jesus did on the cross; Jesus made an exchange on that cross, your body for His. That’s why by faith in Jesus we have “died unto sins”. It’s no longer you that lives but Christ in you! “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me” (Galatians 2:20). That is the true Gospel that the devil’s “ministers of righteousness” don’t want you to understand because it this is the power of God unto everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).
(1John 3:5,6) You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. What does it mean “to take away sins”; is it just past sin or is it future sin too? The answer is in the scripture above, remember the Gospel is Christ crucified, Christ living in you and “in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him.” If Jesus takes away sins then that’s not only past sins but present and future too.
(1John 3:6) No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. (7) Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; (8) the one who practices sin is of the devil... We are warned to not be deceived; yet most have been deceived by the false teaching that you’re a sinner who is saved by grace. That is a false Gospel, unfounded in Scripture and is taught by Satan through his ministers of righteousness! “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil”. What a better way to destroy the works of the devil than to do away with sin as the Bible teaches.
(1John 3:9,10) Whosoever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed abideth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is begotten of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God… Many believers get a false sense of eternal security by teaching we are all sinners and that you'll always be a sinner. God clearly teaches Holiness throughout the scriptures while the devils ministers preach that we're all sinners and God’s grace and forgiveness will always cover us. They preach that it’s OK to live the way you want because God loves you and forgives you. This is a lie from the devil because the real Gospel is that Jesus took our sin and now it's God working in you and manifesting His nature in you. The more holiness you manifest, the less forgiveness you’ll need. Scripture says, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God” (Heb 12:14,15). Stop adding to God’s word and just believe what it says, or you will “fail of the grace of God” because WITHOUT HOLINESS YOU WILL NOT SEE THE LORD!
(1John 5:18) We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. Do you understand this scripture? This is how we do not sin…Jesus “who was born of God” keeps us from sinning, the Jesus in you keeps you from sinning and the devil does not touch us! It’s not you and your ability that keeps you from sinning, it’s God’s power in you that does it in you. Has this happened to you yet? If you don’t have faith in the Power of God to keep you from sin, then you’re denying the real Gospel of Jesus Christ and you will always be in bondage to sin. In other words you will be a sinner! The real Gospel is that through FAITH in Jesus and what He did on the cross, He made an exchange, His righteousness for your sinfulness. He became sin for us and it’s no longer us that live but Christ who lives in us! If by faith you believe it’s Jesus and not your old self who lives in you, then by faith (the things hoped for, the evidence not seen. Heb 11:1) Jesus cannot sin nor can you. By faith we manifest Christ in us until we’re made perfect.
A believer is accounted perfect by faith! He claims his perfection by faith, “for by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified” (Heb. 10:14). As the believer walks in this faith, God is able to manifest perfection in him, God is using the believers faith to accomplish this. If the unbelieving minister of the devil teaches you that as a Christian you’re always going to be a sinner (contrary to God’s word) then you will be exactly that, a sinner. (Mark 11:23,24) Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith cometh to pass; he shall have it. Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. If you ask the Lord to take your sinful nature away and make you more like Him, God will use your faith and His power to do it in you. If you believe you’re a sinner and that you’ll always be a sinner, then that’s exactly what you’ll be is a sinner. “According to your faith be it done unto you” (Matt 9:29). The same thing can be said of Sanctification or Holiness. Do you have the faith to believe that you can be holy; do you believe you can be perfect in Christ? (Matt 5:48) Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. If Jesus commands us to be perfect just as our Father is perfect, why do our Pastors tell us we have no hope of being perfect? Again this is a false doctrine that steals the faith of believers. If we’re taught to believe we cannot be holy then the devil has succeeded because as we believe it will be done unto us. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee (Matthew 8:13). If we believe Satan’s “ministers of righteousness” rather than God, we’ll miss the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, the devil has just succeeded in stealing your faith for being holy and you will live a life of sinfulness. (Philippians 3:12-15) Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect: but I press on, if so be that I may lay hold on that for which also I was laid hold on by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I could not myself yet to have laid hold: but one thing `I do', forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded…
No, we are not sinners saved by grace! Instead we were sinners who are now Saints; Saints who are saved by grace. Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new (2 Cor 5:17). If you’re born again, you are a new creature; a new creation made in the image of Jesus and with Jesus in you, you’re no longer a sinner as you were before you were saved. Sixty one times in the New Testament believers are call Saints while not once is a believer called a sinner. Please believe what the Bible says instead of Satan’s ministers that he’s planted amongst the church. For a more in depth look about sin, please read either article on this site, Sinner Saved by Grace? And He Takes Away the Sin of the World.
Test #9 Unmasking Satan’s ministers – “Free will”
Do you hear any of “God’s’’ ministers preaching that you have “free will”; the free will to do what ever you want or to choose whether you will believe in Jesus or not? Let’s see what the scriptures say to see if this too is a false doctrine from the devil.
(Ephesians 1:11) In whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will. We were foreordained (predestined) according to God’s purpose. Do you fully understand this? The Greek word “foreordained” is “PROORIZO” which means to predetermine or determine beforehand, ordain. So we were predetermined before we were born, according to God’s purpose and not ours. God works all things according to His will not ours. With this being said, who are we to think that we’re in control or have free will in anything? (JOHN 3:27) ….. A man can receive nothing, except it have been given him from heaven. If you can receive nothing except it is given to you from heaven, wouldn’t that include your thoughts, your actions and even if you choose to follow Jesus?
How can we have free will to do whatever we want? If that would be true, then it would be from us and not from heaven? Whether it’s good or bad, it all comes from heaven, if it doesn't come from heaven then you do not receive it. Sure it seems like we’re making the decisions but Scripture says it is the Lord directing our steps. (PROVERBS 16:9) In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. You may think that you are in control and you have the free will to do what you like, but Scripture is consistent that God is the one directing you and the path you take in life. Free will? No, God is directing your life and the path which you take.
(DANIEL 4:35) And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? If man has “free will” and is doing against the will of God, then this would go against this passage because it says that God does everything according to His will and none can keep Him from doing that will.
Over and over scripture says that God does EVERYTHING according to His will and not ours. (Philippians 2:13) For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Can you see in this Scripture that God works in each of us to do His will, to do His work for His good pleasure? He puts His will in us and we don't even realize it. We may not fully understand how this works but we must believe what the scripture says and it says that God works His will in us. Does that include you choosing or not choosing to follow Jesus? (John 15:16) Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide. Jesus’ own words back up what we’ve been talking about. It was not your understanding or your “free will” which made you believe in Jesus; it was God who was working in you with His will in order to draw you to Him! According to Jesus, it’s not us and our supposed “free will” that causes us to come to Him, it’s Jesus who chooses us and when that happens, God works His will in our hearts so that we believe and trust in Jesus. It’s true, even your salvation was neither of your doing nor your “free will”, you did not choose Jesus, He chose you!
(John 6:37) All that which the Father giveth me shall come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out…(44) No man can come to me, except the Father that sent me draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day. No one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws them to His Son! How does God draw them to Jesus? God works His will within you and puts faith into your heart in order that you come to Jesus. Notice this is not of your “free will” but the free gift of faith from God. (Eph 2:8) For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, (9) not of works, lest anyone should boast. This scripture cannot be true if you still believe you can work for your salvation by your own free will. If you feel that by your choice or by what decide from your free will, then that’s your own works and that’s not acceptable to God. The truth is that we only come to Jesus because God gave us the free gift of faith. If God chooses not to give you the free gift of faith, then there’s nothing your “free will” can do to save yourself. If God doesn't give you faith then He will not work His will in you to come to Jesus and you won’t ever be saved. It’s God’s will and not ours. How can a true minister of God preach that we are in control of everything; including our salvation when there are so many scriptures that say the exact opposite? This my friend is not a minister of God, but a deceiver who is preaching lies.
Test #10 Unmasking Satan’s ministers - “Female Pastors”
Have you seen any Female Pastors lately? What does the Bibles say about women teaching and preaching in our church? Remember that it’s not what we believe nor what we think is right according today’s modern day, it’s what God says in His Word. (1 Timothy 2:9) In like manner, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefastness and sobriety; not with braided hair, and gold or pearls or costly raiment; (10) but (which becometh women professing godliness) through good works. (11) Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection. (12) But I permit not a woman to teach, nor to have dominion over a man, but to be in quietness. (13) For Adam was first formed, then Eve; (14) and Adam was not beguiled, but the woman being beguiled hath fallen into transgression: (15) but she shall be saved through her child-bearing, if they continue in faith and love and sanctification with sobriety. The Bible cannot be any clearer than this. Women are not permitted to teach nor have authority over men! Yes, I know this is the Twenty First Century, but God’s Word is God’s Word and He does not change, “I the LORD do not change”. I’ll ask again; have you seen any female Pastor’s in the pulpits lately? Do you have female Elders or Deacons sitting on your church board? Do you see any women teaching or having authority over men within your church? This is all contrary to the Word of God. You can argue all you want about what you think or what you feel, but you cannot find one place in Scripture, not one example that gives women this authority within the church, nor can you find examples of women being leaders in the early church; not one!
Look in your Bible and do a search under the word “wife” and you'll find there are six commands, all of them concerning submission to the man. Under the word “wives” there are six commands; five were clearly concerning submission to the man and one was commanding her to be “faithful in all things” (1 Tim.3:11), which has to include submission. Under the word “woman” there are twelve commands, all of them concerning submission to the man. One more command was given to Timothy to tell the woman to take care of their widows. Under the word “women” there are seven commands; six concerning submission to the man and one was concerning modesty so she would not tempt the man (1 Tim.2:9).
Sure these women Pastors may have all the degree’s and credentials to be a Pastor, but how many of the early church leaders went to a Bible college or seminary to be taught how to be a Pastor? None, the Lord taught them through the Holy Spirit and it was the Lord who chose them. After Jesus ascended into heaven, the disciples raised up Shepherds to lead the church. (Acts 14:23) So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed. Today, instead of being appointed by the Lord, anybody who wants to become a minister can; all they need is the money and the time to attend Seminary. They don’t have to be called or chosen by the Lord, they just need to go to Bible college or seminary in order to get their degree. They’re now ordained according to man and they can be a Pastor. Is it any wonder we have so many of Satan’s ministers behind the pulpits today?
Oh I’m confident that if you talked to every Pastor, be it male or female, they would say that they were called by the Lord into the ministry. One thing I can assure you, it’s not the Lord who is calling a women into the ministry, as the God will not go against His own written Word! The point is this, just because one goes to seminary does not mean that the Lord has called that person to be a Pastor. If a woman is disobeying God’s Word and becomes a minister, they are NOT called by the Lord and they are NOT a minister of the one true God. A true minister of God will never go against God’s Word and women teaching and having authority over men is going against His Word.
I understand this is the twenty first century but God still does not change. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings (Hebrews 13:8,9). And having women Pastors or Elders is a strange teaching from what Jesus set up, “Do not get carried away” by it. God gave us the pattern in nature, God made the women to receive the seed of man. Never do we see in nature the female sowing seed into the male; it’s always the male who sows the seed into the female. Remember the parable of the sower in scripture? The Word of God is the seed (Greek – sperma) that produces Christ in us and God ordained man to deliver that Word to mankind. Just as in nature the female doesn’t sow her seed to others, so it is with God’s Word. God has ordained man to preach and teach the Word of God while it is the women's honor to be the help mate for man.
I’ll finish where I started and ask again… looking around, do you see any of Satan’s ministers in our churches today? These "ministers of righteousness" may not understand that they’re being used by Satan, but the fact is they are: Why? “Because they received not the love of the truth” which is found within our Holy Bible. If they would study God’s Word and love it enough to want the truth and not compromise it, they would not be deceived. If they loved the Word of God above what their denomination teaches, even if it meant losing their position, then God would use them.
Do you love the truth of God’s Word? Will you take your Pastor’s word as fact or will you love the truth enough to study God’s Word diligently to find the real truth? After all weren’t we warned by Paul? (2 Timothy 4:3,4) For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. Isn’t this what has happened; have you had itching ears wanting the easy doctrine instead of what God wants for you? If so, do not fear for our God is a forgiving God and all you have to do is repent and follow His ways which is holiness according to the Bible.
Now you can understand why in the end times a cry comes from Heaven warning us to "Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins lest you share in her plagues; for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities (Rev 18:4,5). COME OUT OF HER! Come out of Satan’s trap that he’s laid within the churches in order to pacify and deceive God’s people, COME OUT!
