Does Jesus Still heal?

Dedicated in love and complete faith to my amazing mother Diann Geisinger, from her son Mark.

(Since writing this article my mother has gone to be with the Lord)

Today we’re going to look at Devine healing and whether Jesus still heals like we see in the Bible. We’ll explore all the Scriptures to see if Jesus really does heal today just like we read about in the Bible, or whether all the miracles and healings passed away with the disciples as many teach today. To understand this, we must realize that when Jesus walked this earth, He healed EVERY ONE who came to Him; EVERY ONE! “That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick (Matt 8:16). That is everyone who had faith; “And he could there do no mighty work... And he marveled because of their unbelief” (Mark 6:5,6). So now that Jesus is sitting on the right hand of God the Father; does Jesus still heal like He did in the Bible? Yes, He does EVERY TIME! Let’s explore the Scriptures to see.

Seeing that today Jesus is not walking here on this earth in the flesh, how is it that Jesus instructed us to heal? Did Jesus say, “Take ye everyone who is sick to the doctors”? No He didn’t, here’s what Jesus commanded us to do. (Matt 28:18) And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying, All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth. (19) Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: (20) teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Jesus commands us to not only to evangelize, but to make disciples and teach these new disciples to observeAll things whatsoever I commanded you”, so when Jesus says to observe “ALL things” what does that leave out? All things mean ALL things, even healing of the sick! Everything that Jesus had taught and commanded the original twelve disciples were to be replicated into new disciples, and they were to pass this on and make disciples throughout the whole world!

(Matt 10:1) And he called unto him his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of disease and all manner of sickness. (7) And as ye go, preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand. (8) Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely ye received, freely give. Here we see that Jesus who has all authority in heaven and earth has given that authority to us, His believers, and we are to do what Jesus did! If Jesus commanded His disciples to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons” and later told those same disciples to make new disciples and teach them “All things whatsoever I commanded you”. Do you think that was to be for today, including the works and power of God like healing the sick or raising the dead?

Listen to the final departing words of our Savior before He was taken up to heaven. (Mark 16:17) And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; (18) they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (19) So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken unto them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. Jesus’ plan was to give up His individual body and multiply Himself into the bodies of His believers, who would then do what He was doing and what He had commanded His disciples to do. Jesus was replicating Himself in all those who would receive His born again spirit. The Body of Christ was to be just that, one large body of believers doing the works of Jesus!

(John 20:21) So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you. (22) And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. (23) If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” Jesus was replicating Himself with His spirit in His disciples; to do exactly what the Father had sent Him to do! Do you see the power and authority that was passed down from the Father to Jesus, from Jesus to His disciples, from His disciples to other disciples and eventually to the whole world? That’s the way it was to work if we hadn’t lost our belief.

Hopefully you remember the Gospel that was preached to us? “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me (Gal 2:20). If it’s Christ living in you, then you can, like Jesus and His disciples, lay hands on the sick and heal them. The problem we have today is not, I repeat IS NOT that Jesus doesn’t heal still heal as He did in the Bible; the problem is that we no longer believe that He does! Oh yes, we call ourselves believers but we really don’t believe all of what Jesus taught we believe that the Bible has somehow changed and Jesus doesn’t heal all the time, every time, the same way He did back then. The Bible does not lie, and the sign that we are believers is clearly stated in the above Scripture. Just one of the signs that you’re a believer is that you’ll “lay hands on the sick and they shall recover”. Jesus expects us as believers to do what He did. Are you a believer; are you healing the sick? Do you even believe that you have the authority to lay hands on the sick and heal them? Do you have the faith that you can be prayed for and healed every time by the Lord?

If you don't believe this then you have your eyes on yourself and not on Jesus! God is no respecter of persons; He is looking for believers that see Jesus in them and not themselves. This power comes from God and is only restrained by your lack of faith. (Luke 24:49) And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you but tarry ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high. It’s not your power it's God’s power, His holy spirit that works in you if you believe; His power to do His works in the name of Jesus Christ.

(Luke 10:19) Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall in any wise hurt you. (20) Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. The Bible says “there is no power but of God” and Jesus has given us as believers, His authority and His power to defeat the devil every time! It’s not your fault that you haven’t understood this up until now, this is what the devil doesn’t want you to learn. If you learn that you can fight against, and beat the devil every single time then he must flee. The defeated devil must run like a coward every single time! Why else do you think Satan has kept this teaching which is in the Bible, out of our churches today. If the devil can pacify church goers into believing in a “Jesus” that’s in you who has no power and that has no authority to defeat him and only in a “Jesus” who loves you and wants to save you and take you to heaven; then he’s already defeated you because the devil will come through the back door and overcome you with illness, disease or whatever else we’ve let him plunder us with.

Once you become what the Bible calls a believer, you'll believe and understand your authority in Christ. Once this happens the devil no longer has power over you because you believe the Word! Then you will be a believer and will “cast out demons they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Think about it, if you were the devil would you want Christians knowing their authority they have in Jesus? No, you would do whatever it takes to keep it out of the church; so when the devil couldn’t beat the true church, he joined it and has now lulled us to sleep. He has rendered us non-effective by teaching us that all this has all passed away with the disciples and that these promises in the Bible no longer work for us today.

(John 14:12) Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father. (13) And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (14) If ye shall ask anything in my name, that will I do. Straight from the mouth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, He says that not only will you be doing what He has been doing, but even greater works then what you’ve seen Him do will you do! Please read our Lord’s words again if you don’t understand this. How can we choose not to believe that we have this authority to heal just like Jesus did when Jesus says it Himself?

So here we have the Lord’s plan; He’s given His believers His authority and His power to do what Jesus did in His name (Greek "onoma" – nature, character, and authority) and Jesus wants us to walk as He did in His NAME, His nature, His character, His authority! Do you believe this? Do you really believe that you and other believers have the ability to do what Jesus did? We’re taught that all this passed away with the disciples, even though Scripture says that we were to pass this teaching on to make more disciples. Yes, the devil has deceived the church into believing that Jesus no longer heals this way nor gives His believers this power to heal. Do you believe the Word of God or do you believe Satan’s lies?

(Galatians 2:20) I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. If you’re truly born again, then you should understand that it’s no longer you, but Christ living in you. That’s why you have the authority to heal the sick and heal them every time. That’s why if you’re getting prayed over by a true believer you must believe, just as if were Jesus who was praying over you (because He is).

Let’s now look at evidence of regular men taking authority just like Jesus did. (Acts 3:6) But Peter said, "I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene--walk!" (7) And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened… (16) "And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all. It was the faith in the name of Jesus and Peter didn’t have to appeal to God nor beg God for the healing because Jesus had already given him the authority to do so. (Acts 9:33) There he found a man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years, for he was paralyzed. (34) Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; get up and make your bed." Immediately he got up. Peter knew the gift which Jesus had given them and used that authority to do what Jesus did. Just like Jesus was doing the works of His Father in heaven, Peter and the other disciples were doing the works of Jesus.

(Acts 14:8) In Lystra there sat a man crippled in his feet, who was lame from birth and had never walked. (9) He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed (10) and called out, "Stand up on your feet!" At that, the man jumped up and began to walk. Again we notice that we don’t see Peter and Paul praying or pleading with God to heal these people. We don’t see them praying “if it’s your will Father”, Instead we see them taking the authority they have in Jesus and commanding it to be done. They’re taking the authority that Jesus gave them to “tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy”. Serpents and scorpions represent demon spirits the devil uses over God's people. Peter and Paul were plundering the devils kingdom and the power he usurps over God's people, they were using the people’s faith along with Jesus’ authority to speak to that illness or that spirit and heal them.

(Matthew 18:18) Verily I say unto you, what things so ever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things so ever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Read this again very carefully; Jesus gives us the authority to bind (not allow) things on earth (example- sickness, disease, whatever) and then they will be bound (not allowed) in heaven. Do you understand the power that Jesus has given us? We are to walk in His name and His authority and the devil cannot stand up to the name of Jesus, we are ambassadors of Chris! Then the Lord continues to say that whatever we loose (allow) on earth will be loosed (allowed) in heaven (example –blessings, healings, etc.). Are you beginning to see what Jesus has given us and what we’ve lost because we no longer believe all of God’s Word?

When you don’t believe the Word of God and that you have the right to be healed, every time, you are essentially giving your faith to the devil and allowing the sickness to prevail. “What things so ever ye shall loose (Allow) on earth shall be loosed (Allowed) in heaven”. If you give your authority that Christ gave you at the cross, over to the devil, then it’s you and your faith in the devil that will prevent that healing. By not believing the Lord and what His Word says, you are allowing that sickness on earth and so it will be allowed in heaven from God. Just as Adam gave his authority over to the devil, so are we when we ignore the promises in the Bible and believe the devil has the power over us.

(Matthew 18:19) Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven. The prayer of agreement; can anything be more powerful than two or more believers praying in agreement? Whether you’re praying for that healing or something else, God’s word is true and we must believe it!

(James 5:14) Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. (15) And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (16) Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Do you see what the Bible says to do when you’re sick? It doesn’t say to go to the Doctor or take some medicine! The Bible says to pray for the sick and they WILL be healed! God has never changed; therefore He still wants us to trust in Him and only Him for your healing. God doesn’t want to share His glory with man or medicine, He wants your faith. Do you understand what that prayer of faith really is? It’s believing God in faith that not only will He do as His Word says but that God has already done it! (Mark 11:24) Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye received them, and ye shall have them. This sums up the prayer of faith right here… believe that you already received them and they will be yours! Do you believe God? Then how would you act if you really did believe? Your actions will speak louder than your words. If you’ve broken your foot and the doctor says to stay off it or you’ll have permanent damage, do you believe your doctor or do you believe the Word of God? If you really believe with all your heart that you received what you prayed for, then you’d walk by faith and not by sight. You’d be like Peter when he obeyed the words of Jesus and walked out of the boat onto the water. (Matt 14:28) And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
(29) So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
You’d walk on that foot knowing that God has already healed you because that’s what the Word of God says. That’s the faith that God honors, that's the faith He uses to heal!

Many times we say that we have faith, but then believe the doctor before we believe God. God's Word clearly says that you are healed, but we choose not to believe the Word of God and instead believe the word of the doctor and we do as the doctors say, staying off that foot. Was that really faith, did you believe the doctor over God? The faith God doesn’t honor and which you’ll never see a miraculous healing is a “double-minded” doubting faith where you pray and then “hedge your bets”, seeking out man to heal you by medications and more doctoring. That’s because you’ve now put your trust in man instead of God and what His Word says.(James 1:6) Let him ask in faith, nothing doubting: for he that doubteth is like the surge of the sea driven by the wind and tossed. (7) For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord; (8) a doubleminded man, unstable in all his ways. God’s Word does not lie, the question is, do you have the child-like faith the Bibles speaks of, or do you have doubt and unbelief intermixed with what you think is faith.

Can we always see what we have faith in? (Hebrews 11: 1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So here you have the definition of faith and we see that YOU CAN’T SEE WHAT YOU HAVE FAITH IN! You cannot see God, but we have faith that He is. We cannot see Jesus, but we have faith that he has taken away our sins. We cannot see our body healed YET, but we have faith that God’s word is true and that He will heal us! In reality the Word doesn’t say we will receive healing, the Word says that we already were healed! It’s a done deal we dwell in time where God does not. Jesus accomplished that healing on the cross, "who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed" (1 Peter 2:24). Do you see that by what Jesus did on the cross; He not only carried our sins away but healed us too? Past tense! Just like salvation is past tense and you accept it by faith when in reality you cannot see your salvation, you cannot see your glorified body that you’ll get in heaven, you just accept it by faith. Why do you accept your salvation by faith, and not that you were already healed at the cross? Do you wake up each day and say to yourself, “I hope I get saved today”; no, you accept it by faith; you accept that you’re already saved until one day it will manifest itself and you will be

That’s the faith you need for healing, after you’ve prayed for that healing you must be able to stop looking to the to the future that you will be healed and simply thank the Lord for healing you. If you actually believed you were healed, how would you act? First of all you would rest from your works of seeking out a healing and rest in what the Lord has already done. Then what would you do? You would you brag on God and confess that healing to others. If you’re not and you’re waiting until you see the healing in the mirror, then you really don’t believe it’s done. Are you continuing to pray for your healing or have you begun to just thank the Lord for healing you? Since you prayed for your healing are you now trusting God or are you still seeking medical help or medicines? Your answers to these questions will reveal if you really have that faith you need to be healed. Because with out faith it is impossible to be well pleasing unto God. (Hebrews 11:6) But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. God simply wants you to believe that He is... and that He is big enough to answer your prayer. Anything short of that God will not be reward you for what you prayed for.

Jesus has already healed us….we must unite that promise with faith! (Hebrews 4:2) For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard. Even though God had promised the Israelite children their Promised Land, none believed God when they were tested except two, Caleb and Joshua believed God. They made it into the Promised Land, all the rest of the adults with their unbelieving hearts died in the wilderness. As it says in Hebrews, the good tidings preached about the Promised Land did them no good because it wasn’t united with faith.

There are many wonderful promises in our Bible but nothing that’s promised in Scripture will profit you unless you unite them by faith. This includes the salvation of your soul. If you don’t have faith in Jesus and that you’ll be going to heaven, then you won’t. If you don’t have faith in the healing promises through faith in Jesus, then you won’t be healed. So if you have a saving faith in Jesus, why not have the faith that He not only can heal you but HAS already healed you?

Faith, it’s the key to answered prayer; it’s the fuel that God uses to grant you what you’ve prayed for. As you can imagine, your lack of faith, doubt and unbelief is your biggest enemy and it makes your prayers come to nothing. (James 1:6) But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting: for he that doubteth is like the surge of the sea driven by the wind and tossed. (7) For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord; (8) a double minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Jesus’ Words about faith, belief, doubt.

(1Matt 21:21) …If ye have faith, and doubt not

(Matt 21:22) And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

(Mark 4:40) “Why are ye fearful? Have ye not yet faith?”

(Mark 10: 52) “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight…

(John 11: 40) Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"… (44) The man who had died came forth…

(Mark 11) "Have faith in God. (23)"…..Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith cometh to pass; he shall have it.

(Mark 5) …Thy daughter is dead: (36) But Jesus, not heeding the word spoken, saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not, only believe. In whatever the situation in your life, imagine Jesus with you (because He is in you!) saying “Fear not, only believe!”

Your actions will tell you of your faith. If you’re fearful over the situation, then you need more faith to trust, not just with your lips but trust with your heart. We must trust that God is in control and that He has indeed granted you that prayer of faith. Just believe and do not doubt it in your heart!

Did Jesus heal these people… or did their FAITH?

(Matthew 9:29) Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it done unto you. (30) And their eyes were opened.

(Mark 5:28) For she thought, "If I just touch His garments, I will get well." (29) Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction… (34) And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your affliction."

(Mark 6:56) …they were laying the sick in the market places, and imploring Him that they might just touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were being cured.

Do you have that child-like faith? Are you coming before God’s throne and saying to yourself, “if I can just have a believer anoint me with oil and pray for me, I know I’ll be healed” If you did have that excited and child-like faith, you too would be healed. The only limitation Jesus put on healing was our belief.

(Matthew 8:13) And Jesus said to the centurion, "Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed." And the servant was healed that very moment. Is it God's will or our belief that determines the outcome?

(Matthew 9:29) Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you." (30) And their eyes were openedIs it according to Jesus' faith or our faith that it will be done unto us?

(Mark 9:22) "It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!" (23) And Jesus said to him, " 'If You can?' All things are possible to him who believes." (24) Immediately the boy's father cried out and said, "I do believe; help my unbelief." Our problem is that we limit God by your small belief; instead of having the faith for God to just take away your tooth ache, ask your heavenly Father to fill that cavity or better yet, ask Him for a completely new tooth. Is God limited, or is it our faith that’s limited? Is God’s arm to short or is it our belief that’s in short supply? Let’s listen in on Jesus’ disciples asking why they couldn’t cast a demon out, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you (Matthew 17:19,20). Maybe you have Glaucoma or cataracts, instead of having faith for God to heal your disease, ask God for new eyes so that you don’t even need your eyeglasses. Remember if you have the faith of a mustard seed you can move mountains, so don’t limit God with your little faith. "Go it shall be done for you as you have believed".

Remember that if you really believed you’ve been healed, you need to act on that faith as though you were healed! So go ahead and act like you really do believe God! (James 2:17) Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. (20) But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? (26) For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. We can see that when it comes to answered prayer and healing, the Lord isn’t interested in what you say about your faith, but what you do with your faith. Let’s say that I have a bad migraine headache, I call my prayer partner and we pray that my headache is gone. We pray and claim by faith that “by Jesus’ stripes I am healed” we then stand on God’s word that says “All things whatsoever you pray and ask for, believe that you received them, and you shall have them” finally we hit the devil hard with faith in this “if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by the Father”. We close our prayer in the name of Jesus and I confess with my mouth that my headache is gone and is healed. Ten minutes later the headache is still there, I get impatient and take a couple of Extra Strength Tylenol and call one of my other friends to ask if he’ll also pray for me. After another ten minutes with my pain still there, I contact the church prayer team and ask them to include me in their prayers. I continue to pray and ask God to take the pain away because even though it’s been a half hour since our first prayer, I’m still in a lot of pain. Finally I go to sleep with my head still pounding, no miracle no glory to God.

Now can you tell me why I wasn’t healed? Did my actions line up with what I professed with my mouth? No, because even though I said I had faith, I really didn’t. I should have simply thanked the Lord the first time when I prayed. If I really believed God the first time, why would I have to pray for it again and again; is God hard of hearing? If I believed God, why would I seek another savior (the Tylenol) to ease the pain? Didn’t I trust that God would take care of it; isn’t God powerful enough to help me? If I'm praying for a healing to come (future tense), that is contrary to what the Word of God says and you are disagreeing with the God’s Word (by His stripes we have been healed) we must call do like God and call the things that are not as though they were. You see, God knows our heart and He sees our faith. If you walk by sight instead of faith, you will doubt and question why you don’t see it now, you’ll never be healed. We must look back at the cross when we were not only saved but healed. We must put our faith into action! Let’s now explore some examples of faith in action.

(Luke 17:12-14) There met Him ten men who were lepers… and they lifted up their voices, saying, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go and show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, as they went, they were cleansed. Did you notice that they were not healed right away? Only when they got up (in faith) to show themselves to the priests were they healed “on the way”. What if they would’ve looked down and seen that after Jesus said these words, they still had leprosy and decided not to show themselves to the priest? They would’ve gone unhealed because of their lack of faith and their doubt. Isn’t that what happens to us sometimes, we don’t have Jesus standing in front of us speaking His word so we doubt. Yet, Jesus is here, not just standing in front of us but Jesus is in us! Jesus is the Word and that Word is to be in us, it's living and active and speaking His Word causes life.

Did you know that according to the Old Testament Law, the only reason those ten lepers would’ve went to show themselves to the priest is to show that they were now clean? The problem was that when they left to show themselves to the priest they still had leprosy, but they were healed because of their faith. They weren’t walking by sight, they were walking by faith.

(John 9: 6) When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and anointed his eyes with the clay, (7) and said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam (which is by interpretation, Sent). He went away therefore, and washed, and came seeing. Notice he was not healed until he went… and washed… in other words his actions lined up with his faith. Every time you pray and believe for something, ask yourself, “how would I act if I believed”? If your actions speak contrary what you confess with your lips, then repent and put your actions in line with your faith.

(Matthew 9:6) …then He said to the paralytic, "Get up, pick up your bed and go home." (7) And he got up and went home. Imagine Jesus standing in front of you now and He says to you “Child by my stripes you were healed at the cross, your faith has healed you” would you still be moping around believing that you were sick, still praying, hoping that you’d get well, still taking medication? No you wouldn’t; you’d be so impressed that Jesus Himself just spoke to you and told you that you were healed that you’d throw you medication away running and telling everyone! Can’t you see that JESUS IS HERE right now and you have His written inspired Word? Why don’t you believe it? Jesus is here now, in each and every one of His believers. His Word is living and active and when His word says you are healed you must believe it just as you believe you're saved.

(Mark 6:5) And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. (6) And he marveled because of their unbelief. As mighty as Jesus was and is, He couldn't do much in His home town because of their unbelief. That’s what happens today when you’re prayed for and nothing happens. If you really believed that it’s Jesus in you and that it’s Jesus in the person praying for you and laying hands on you, then why wouldn’t you believe and be healed?

I know we covered this Scripture before but it bears repeating. (Hebrews 11:6) And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him. Do you believe God is a rewarder? Do you believe He will reward you and answer your prayer? Try pleasing your Father in heaven by having complete faith in Him! Know that He is God and can do ALL things for those who trust in Him.

(Romans 10: 9) because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved: (10) for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Most believe this verse to be talking only of the salvation of your soul, when really the Greek word for salvation covers not only your eternal life, but your protection, your healing, and your circumstance, everything! If you believe that Jesus has healed (saved) you, have you confessed it with your mouth? Have you told anyone how the Lord has healed you? You must believe it enough in your heart to speak it to others! Here’s the catch though, you’ll be speaking it by faith and not by sight. You’ll be confessing that healing before you actually see the healing manifest itself. Please don’t feel like you’re lying, you’re just speaking what the Bible says, just like you speak that you are “saved” even before it’s manifested. Our healing is no different; we believe it by faith until God manifests it. Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written, "That you may be justified in your words (Romans 3:4).You will be justified in your words and if you speak what the Bible says about your healing then you’ll be healed. If you speak contrary to what the Word says then you won’t be healed.

What would be speaking contrary to the Word? Things like, “If it’s God’s will” (God has promised and shown us that it is his will to heal us) “God will heal me”. That would be like saying "I know God will save me some day from my sins" and always looking for your salvation in the future. Jesus already saved us and healed us by his death on the cross and to look to the future for what Jesus did for you is against what is written. Any words of doubt and unbelief are most certainly speaking contrary to the Word and you will not receive your healing.

(Hebrews 10:23) Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Indeed you may see an immediate healing, but most of the time you will not. This is a test of your faith, it may take hours or it may take days or weeks, but like this Scripture says “hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering”. You’re being tested to see if you’ll hold fast and if you will continue in your faith. Just remember “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Don’t look to the future for when you'll be healed; if you do then you’ll never receive that healing. Just like if you’re hoping that someday you’ll be saved, then you never will be saved until you accept that free gift by faith. That’s what we must do with our healing, you must look backwards to the cross when Jesus said it is finished”, that’s when Jesus not only saved you, but healed you. “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. (1 Peter 2:24) Can you accept that you have been saved by faith? Now accept that you’ve already been healed by faith too.

Are you sick, do you need a healing, what are you waiting for? You should be like the woman with an issue of blood who said in her heart, "if only I could touch the hem of His garment I will be healed". Why don't you hurry and find a couple of mature believers and do what the Bible commands? (James 5:14) Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. (15) And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (16) Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.

May the Lord bless you,
